Nested on the lush green slopes of the Bass Valley, The Old Schoolhouse
Kernot served the educational needs of the local community for more than
70 years.  During this time, the children won many an inter-school garden
competition and enjoyed the fruits of their labour from the variety of apples
            in the established orchard.

The school closed in the mid 1980’s but has recently undergone a
complete renovation and extension to provide relaxed accommodation
for those wanting to escape from the pace of city life.  Play a leisurely
game of tennis on the private court, bushwalk or simply relax in the
private garden, enjoying the panoramic views.

The schoolhouse has stylish accommodation for eight people,
comprising two double bedrooms and a bunkroom which sleeps four.
With comfort and relaxation in mind, your amenities include:

·         Well appointed kitchen

·         Dishwasher

·         Washing machine

·         Colour TV, DVD & VCR player and Stereo (CD/Cassette player)

·         Cosy combustion heating (ample wood supplied)

·         All bed-linen (beds made up)

·         Tennis Court

·         Children’s play equipment including trampoline, swings and
      basketball ring

·         Barbecue

Many of Victoria’s premier tourist attractions are within easy reach of
            the schoolhouse including:

·         Phillip Island and South Gippsland wineries

·         Beautiful beaches:  Phillip Island, Cape Paterson, Inverloch
      and Kilcunda

·         Natural attractions:  The Gurdies State Forest, Kilcunda to San
Remo cliff top walk, Powlett River reserve, Marine Park

A leisurely one hour drive from Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, the
schoolhouse is ideally placed for both weekend and weekly stays.
